General Responsibilities:
Leap Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our growing finance and accounting team as Accounts Payable Manager. The Accounts Payable Manager will have a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions and keeping us on good terms with our valued partners and suppliers. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices while collaborating with team members to reconcile processed data.
This role will report to the Corporate Controller. This individual will own the accounts payable function for the Company’s domestic and international operations.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Executes the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable process.
- Directly supervises and oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve payment inquiries including payment disputes, misapplied payments, and statement reconciliation.
- Ensures accurate and timely execution of transactions while partnering closely with staff to enhance and execute problem resolution.
- Knowledgeable of end-to-end processing requirements for processing invoices.
- Work with internal stakeholders as needed to manage problem resolution, documentation, authorization, and expedited payments.
- Assess current accounts payable practices and procedures and make recommendations for process improvements as necessary.
- Manage and prepare the 1099 reporting process.
- Assist Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller & support team members.
- Ensure proper application of US GAAP and industry reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Write-up and implement processes and procedures.
- Assist in monthly close activities and audits.
Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
- Experience in the life science industry preferred.
- Experience and exposure to financial accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus)
- High level of attention to detail required in managing analytical tasks.
- Ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments.
- Ability to interface well with a variety of employees at all levels.
- Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple tasks.
- Excellent computer system, PC skills, excel included.
